Garlic Black Pepper Chicken

INGREDIENTS:

4 to 6 Pieces Boneless Chicken Thighs

Salt & Pepper

1 to 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil for frying

For the Sauce:

1/4 cup oyster sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp cracked black pepper

1 tbsp minced garlic

2 tbsp honey

1/4 cup ketchup

2 tbsp butter

Toasted sesame seeds for toppings

Optional: Chopped spring onions and chopped fresh chillies

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Season the chicken fillets with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  2. In a pan, add in oil, and turn the heat up medium high. Once the pan is hot, add in the chicken fillets. If using skin-on chicken, place the skin side down first.

  3. Pan-fry the chicken for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until the chicken skin is crispy and golden brown. Remove from pan and set aside.

  4. In a bowl, cracked black pepper, minced garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, honey, and ketchup in a bowl.

  5. Using the same frying pan on medium heat, add butter into the pan. Pour sauce mixture and simmer for 1 minute. Make sure you mix it while simmering to avoid burning of the sauce.

  6. Add the chicken back to the pan and cook further for about 3 to 5 minutes.

  7. To serve, slice chicken into pieces and place on top of a bowl with rice. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, chopped spring onions and for an optional spicy kick, chopped fresh chillies.
