We are looking for a Fresh Produce Assistant to join our Chandlery Supermarket team and do things “The Chandlery Way”. The role is crucial to ensuring the success of the business. You will therefore be required to carry out your tasks to a high standard. Your tasks are all directed towards providing our customers with the best possible shopping experience.

THE ROLE

The role will be responsible for all chilled and fresh produce sold by the Chandlery. Responsibility includes proper storage and handling of products in the shop floor and warehouse areas. This will be achieved by working together as part of the sales team whereby everyone, collectively, creates the optimum shopping environment for our valued customers.

Attention to food safety and hygiene is also essential. The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines to ensure products are always displayed at their freshest.

OVERVIEW OF TASKS

Main duties will include carrying out tasks in all food preparation areas, restocking of shelves, perform stock rotation, and serving customers. Applicants must be physically fit and able to meet the demands of a busy working environment. Training will be provided.

Previous retail experience, a strong command of the English language, excellent customer service skills, and a friendly, team-oriented attitude are essential. Applicants will be required to work on a shift rota basis which includes public holidays.
